WebMar 12, 2024 · Then, a new imaging condition based on the down- and upgoing wave fields and a new weighting function are proposed to suppress RTM artifacts. The proposed imaging condition can suppress artifacts for each reflection angle independently. Finally, the proposed RTM procedure is tested using BP and Sigsbee velocity models. Webmethod to Sigsbee benchmark model and demonstrate that the velocity analysis based on sensitivity kernels can handle both large-scale and small-scale velocity errors in a complex geological environment. Introduction Velocity model building remains a challenge as migration/imaging techniques are facing increasingly complex structures.

WebFeb 1, 2024 · We use a widely referred 2-D Sigsbee velocity model (Paffenholz et al., 2002) to test the validity of our framework in the complex velocity model. The modified 2-D Sigsbee model with velocities from v m i n = 1500 m/s to v m a x = 5500 m/s is shown in Fig. 10, and the positions of source and receiver are also shown in Fig. 10. WebJan 15, 2024 · The AGL elastic Marmousi model, also commonly referred to as the Marmousi2 model, is an elastic extension of the original Marmousi model created by Gary S. Martin, Robert Wiley and Kurt J. Marfurt (2004, 2006). The model has a lateral extension of 17 km and a depth of 3.5 km and includes a total of 199 layers geological layers, as well …
