Web16 feb. 2007 · No, you are confused, as the tilde ( ~ ) on an american keyboard is in the location (to the left of '1') as the aforementioned 'back tick'. However on a Britsih Keyboard it's usually near return key. This confused me no end when I was a n00b playing Quake for the first time reading the american docs.
